Thankful
When I look at this picture I am thankful!! I have such great kids. They are smart, healthy and they try to do what it right.
Alexis: Her teacher raved about her at parent teacher conference. She is advanced in reading, writing ad science. She is a rule follower and always does what is right. If she doesn’t want to do something, like play the piano, she only needs so much as a look from me to get her to do it. She is the oldest and bossiest and the princess. I do tell her at least once a day that “I am the mom” when she tries to discipline her brother. She is very friendly and had many friends and play dates. She is found most of the time in her bed at night curled up with a good book.
Jackson: Classic second child who tries to keep up with the first but is the opposite in so many ways. Wild, messy, sensitive, and always found holding small LEGOS in his hands and drinking milk. He has a great love for his Dad and is always making him notes and leaving them by his bed or at his desk. If Dad is home, only Dad can get him things or take him to bed. He is also advanced in reading and writing and even social studies. His teacher says he really thinks abstractly. She talked to the class about healthy and non healthy options in life and mostly with food. When asked to draw something healthy and unhealthy she expected to see pictures of food. Jackson drew a picture of him and Brad on a tread mill working out for healthy and for non healthy he drew a picture of himself playing video games. His teacher also told us she taught the kids about an ellipsis (…). That day she showed us how he wrote a story in his journal and even used an ellipsis the correct way. Pretty good for a 5 year old.
Matthew: The little guys with lots to say. Suddenly this kids is bursting with words. He has turned into a little sponge and will sit for a long time while I read to him. He has a new found love of Dora and Dinosaur Train. He is very social and smiles for everyone. He can turn at any minute and throw a major tantrum. He will bite and throw things, like kitchen chairs, at you. I joke he has rage but I really think he does. Not very often and mostly when he is tired or hungry. He is lots of fun to see grow up. He loves to ride his tricycle, climb things, and throw balls. He has just started saying prayers almost completely on his own and getting picky about what I feed him. Some mornings he wants toast and others he prefers Reese Puffs. If I get him the wrong thing he freaks out. Good thing he can verbalize all his wants. He makes us laugh especially during scriptures by dancing or making funny faces at the kids to get them to laugh.
