The 12 Days of Christmas
Every December 13th we start our 12 days of Christmas. First the kids get to open their new ornament for the tree. This year I got little snow globes that were the same as last year. Jackson broke his last year and I wanted to replace it. Matthew had a personalized globe from last year so I got him a candy cane that said Matthew. They hung them on our overstuffed tree, I need a new giant one. They all get really excited to start our 12 days of Christmas with a new book to open every night. Ali and Jackson were arguing over who was going to be the first one to get to open a book so naturally I gave it to Matthew. He didn’t want to rip the paper off until I showed him it was okay. Funny how you forget the little ones aren’t quite sure what to do. They really love this tradition and I love to see the excitement they get over it. It is a great way to add books to our collection.
In other news…Jackson will have his tonsils and adenoids taken out Thursday morning. I am nervous since this will be the first surgery any of our kids has had. BUT, we are excited to see the results. Jackson gets a cold every once and a while but never a fever and he has never had strep throat in his entire life. His tonsils are huge which cause to snore loudly. He chokes on food regularly and speaks in a very nasally. They are a 3++ the Dr. told us. On a scale of 1 to 4, 4 being touching. He has told me that is hurts when he yawns. That is when I took him to the Dr. So we will start this adventure a week before Christmas. We planned it now so he could recover the week before Christmas and Brad would be home to help me with the kids. This also meant I have needed to do everything for Christmas this last week. I have been busy but it is all done. I have never seen Jackson be quiet and sit still unless he is watching TV or asleep. It will be interesting to see how he does. He also eats every 2 hours so I am stocking up on smoothie recipes to help him recover. Oh boy here we go!!

What a fun tradition. You will be so glad he is getting them out early.. Colton didn’t get his until he was a Senior and it was awful. He will do great….I will keep you all in our prayers…..
